Designing a Resilient Disaster Recovery Strategy with Azure Replication

The solution leveraged Azure Site Recovery to replicate on-premise virtual machines securely to the Microsoft Azure cloud, enabling rapid failover in the event of an outage or disaster. In addition, we deployed Distributed File System Replication (DFSR) between the on-premise environment and Azure-based virtual machines to maintain near real-time synchronisation of essential data.

This architecture ensured that systems and files remained consistent and readily available during recovery scenarios. To validate the effectiveness of the design, we established regular disaster recovery simulation test days, allowing the client to rehearse failover procedures and confirm recovery objectives were consistently met.

Overall, the solution delivered a reliable, well-documented disaster recovery framework that strengthened resilience and operational confidence.
